I’m Miranda Martin: Welcome (Back) to the Show! Lights Camera Action Season 2.
Allow me to introduce myself.
I’m Miranda Martin. 25 years old, based in Philadelphia, PA (but a proud, WV girl at heart– born and raised in Beckley, after all), and I am *gasp* a model. However, what does being a model even mean these days? Well, let me explain–
Being a model is not only about being signed to an agency or booking the catwalk; it’s about consistently showing up, being professional, and giving it your best every. single. time. In this day and age, photographers and brands are doing everything from remote photo-shoots to micro-influencer marketing so work is aplenty, and it’s more important (and encouraged) than ever before to show up as your best, most-authentic self.
So, who is my best, most-authentic self, and what kind of modeling do I do? I consider my best, most-authentic self the version of me that’s well nourished (in body and soul), working on something fun, creative, and real (with people who are professional and show up consistently to set, on time, and ready to do good work), and the me that’s proud of who I am, what story my body tells as a model, and how I represent the people of West Virginia.
That said, in the coming weeks I’ll have a ton of modeling tips and some past experiences to share with all of you (as I’ve been in the industry for roughly ~3 years now professionally with agents and representatives, and had lots of ad-hoc, fun work to boot before then), all focused on helping you show up as the best, most-authentic version of YOU on set or on the catwalk every time you book the gig. From body positivity and confidence to boosting to skincare, modeling “red-flags” and beyond, I have the scoop on it all (and with a little help from Chris here at SDS Modeling Company and some other industry leaders, we’ll fill you in on everything in no time)!
Enjoy the first episode of Season 2 Lights, Camera, and Action! as it makes its return (and I make my debut), and until we meet again–
